Spec Explorations in AI-Driven Product Storytelling

A series of AI-generated scenes created as part of a creative evaluation, demonstrating how a product can be transformed into bold visual storytelling moments.

The Challenge

As part of a creative interview process, I was asked to show how AI could transform a simple product into scroll-stopping social content. The brief included several example posts with surreal environments, oversized product placement, and dramatic storytelling.

My challenge was to quickly generate a series of high-impact visuals — both still images and video tests — that proved I could deliver the tone, ambition, and visual impact the brand was aiming for.

The product was blinded in all visuals to protect the brand, but the objective was clear:
Show imagination, technical control, and the ability to build cinematic moments around a product.

The Approach

I approached this as a miniature pitch, treating each image as if it were a headline social moment.

I explored:

  • Surreal product scale (towering city monuments)

  • Environmental storytelling (Times Square, rooftops, plazas, dawn/dusk transitions)

  • Stylized liquids and reflections (the “milk city” video sequence)

  • Public interaction concepts (families reacting, crowds gathering)

  • Cinematic lighting (sunrise glow, neon night scenes, lens flares)

  • Product fidelity while anonymized (shape, geometry, and surface preserved)

The goal was to demonstrate range — calm, surreal, dramatic, iconic — while keeping everything AI-native and completely brand-safe.

The Solution

I delivered a collection of AI-generated product-in-scene concepts. Each piece was intended to function as a potential hero post for social — a starting point for a series of high-concept brand moments.

Neon & Night-Sequenced Moments

Times Square-style compositions using saturated lighting and reflective surfaces.

City-Scale Monument Concepts

Scenes where the product stands as an oversized landmark among skyscrapers, creating instant impact and scale.

Sunrise & Golden Hour Compositions

Soft cinematic lighting designed for emotional storytelling.

“Milk City” Surreal World

A fully AI-generated environment where streets transform into flowing white liquid, with a video version to show motion potential.

Still-to-Motion Translation

A video version created directly from the static concept, used to test how lighting, texture, and liquid simulation carry through from image to motion.
